Willow Spring, or known as Willow Springs to some residents, is an unincorporated community located in southeastern Wake County and the western region of Johnston County. The are is about twenty-five minutes from downtown Raleigh, Garner, and Apex. A thirty minute drive leads residents to downtown Fuquay Varina or Wake Technical Community College's Southern Wake Campus.
Willow Spring was not the most utilized space of Johnston County throughout North Carolina's history, though it does have two historical sites listed on the National Register of Historic Places: the Frank and Mary Smith House, and the Turner and Amelia Smith House, both of which were built in 1880. Willow Spring has long been considered the distant suburbs, especially with its little historical background; however, new construction in recent years has put the area on the map, making it very much its own unique community.
Willow Spring is growing quickly as it offers homes in a green setting that's minutes from several neighboring cities. The homes popping up throughout the community allow residents to live in a private, tranquil region not far from the Triangle, while being a short, scenic drive from multiple city centers for shopping, dining, or entertainment.
